A Special Giveaway - Thank You!

We would like to say thank you for all the generosity we have found in the first months of joining the Sewing Community with our blog. We have been so impressed by your creativity and by how you share your ideas so generously. To pay it forward and to thank you we have organised a special giveaway:


We have also been sharing the first of our tutorials for some fun projects. Click on the photos or go to our Tutorials page to see the full tutorials.



Now more about the giveaway: we are giving away, thanks to the very kind publisher, a copy of the second issue of Love Patchwork & Quilting to one lucky winner. This beautiful magazine dedicated to modern quilting is packed full of great projects and articles. Take a glimpse of what's inside this issue, including a Tula Pink booklet (the photos are from our copy, we haven't been reading the giveaway copy, in case your were wondering!):






To have a chance of winning this copy of Love Patchwork & Quilting all you have to do is:
  • leave a comment telling us what you look for in a blog, what is most interesting for you to find in a blog;
  • for followers new and old, another chance of winning: leave a second comment telling us how you follow our blog!
The giveaway is open to everyone and we will post the prize anywhere in the world (if the post office lets us!), closing on the 28th of April. Mr Random will then choose a winner who will be contacted by mail.

    In a blog, I look for tutorials. I am doing a 5 minute education segment at my quilt guild each month this year. So, I look for ideas not only for my personal quilting but also for the education spot. Thanks for blogging and the giveaway of a wonderful magazine. I want to get a better feel for modern quilting.

    Your on the right track for me, I like pretty pictures, photos of fabric, free tutorials or "sewing tricks", and the linking of different challenges, Like Sew Mo-Jo (spelling?) didn't know about that one until I read your recent post.

    I look for a blog posting at least two or three times a week, tutorials are nice, even if on how to make a new block. Quilt a longs and Sew a longs are fun also. Friendly voice, some sharing about family, even if keeping kids names anonymous.

    What really draws me in to a blog is photographs of bright modern quilts - yep gets me hook line and sinker each time. Plus there are the added bonus' of things like tutorials and giveaways.

    I prefer blogs that show/tell what didn't work as well as what did. I fail at fabric choices and sometimes I sew a bit wonky and end up having to rip a bunch of seams and start fresh and I like knowing that I am not the only one who has to do that.

    I am really open on what I look for- mainly inspiration. Sometimes that comes from a photograph, sometimes a tutorial, sometimes a discussion. I do like to see the process from a fabric pull, to the development, to deciding how to quilt it. Hope that helps.
