Triangle Quilt Along: Fabric Mountains (part 1)

Last week of the Triangle Quilt Along. Love how this is looking even though these 119 3" triangles are driving me nuts! These photos are from yesterday:

See you at the final Link up at Paula's The Sassy Quilter!

Bright Fabric Triangle Jewellery (or Jewelry): Le Challenge + One Block Project

Le Challenge #11 is: Bright. The first thing that came into my mind was diamonds! Seriously (I'm a woman, that explains it!). Diamonds of course made me think of jewellery (or jewelry!) and as I'm working on the Triangle Quilt Along over at Paula's The Sassy Quilter, triangles and jewellery just clicked together and I couldn't get them off my mind. I also kept reading that geometric jewellery is very trendy this year... So I had a bit of fun and here's my entry for the Bright Le Challenge: Bright Fabric Triangle Jewellery!

I have to thank my personal and very patient photographer/daughter Ella. I don't know how she puts up with this model and still manages to take nice photos!

This is the front of the triangle fabric necklace:

There is some brightness in the fabric: it's Botanics by Carolyn Friedlander (I bet you'd already guessed!). There is also some brightness in the thread: it's Aurifil's gold BRILLO 726 (in Italian Brillo means "I shine"!).
This is the back of the necklace:

And here's the bracelet. My colleague Elena kindly lent me her hand (well, sort of...) for this photo. She's a nail artist, when she's not working in our office. Every week I run to see what she's come up with during the weekend!

This is the snap on bracelet when it's open:

The Triangle Quilt Along has been very useful, you can't see very well in this photo but I swear the triangle points are perfect! This is made using strips of Botanics from a Jelly Roll.

We're adding this project to our One Block Project: it's about finding fun and useful ways of using single blocks. We'd be really happy if you'd like to take a look at our previous projects in this Flickr group.

Storing ideas: Ella and Nesta's Little (Sewing) Room

Here is our cheap storage idea: some IKEA mini drawers transformed into a shelf above our sewing area:

Each draw contains something sew special: ribbons, trims, buttons, threads... We're thinking of labelling each draw using blackboard stickers but we're not sure about having all that black in front of our eyes...We love colour. Maybe some nice fabric labels instead. What do you think?

We're linking up with Kim at My Go-Go Life. We would like to thank her (and Mr Random!) for choosing us last week for the beautiful link up prize!

The giveaway is open to everyone and we will post the prize anywhere in the world (if the post office lets us!), closing on the 28th of April. Mr Random will then choose a winner who will be contacted by mail.

Making plans: Finish Along Q2

I love making lists! The problem is crossing things off afterwards. Need a little bit of help here so I'm joining the Finish Along Quarter 2 over at Katy's The Littlest Thistle. Nothing better than a deadline to make things move faster...

So here's my list:

TRIANGLE QUILT: for the Triangle QAL over at Paula's @ The Sassy Quilter. I've already managed to miss two link ups and this is what my quilt is looking like at the moment. I am planning on speeding up though. It's a mini quilt so I'm hopeful.

The Sassy Quilter

FUN TRIANGLE PROJECT: the above quilt along inspired this fun triangle project I still haven't managed to finish (here's a peek), so I'm adding this to the list in the hope of finishing it soon.

CARDIGAN GIRLS: found two of these super pretty panels for 3 Euro (that's just over 4 Dollars) each and am planning to transform them into two lightweight quilts for my daughters' beds.

Love the quotes on these Cardigan Girls panels by Monica Lee for Timeless Treasures.

ZAKKA BLOCK QUILT: love this quilt and now I absolutely want to see it finished!

This quilt is part of my list for The Library Project Quilt Along over at Adrienne's Chezzetcook Quilts

Chezzetcook Modern Quilts

EXPERIMENT PROJECT: I can't think up a name for this one but it's another project that has been hanging around for too long, because there is something I need to change... Work in progress at the moment.

My list in the end is longer than I thought it would be but there are some smaller projects here, so I'm positive. Now to work!
